Production on the tentatively titled “The Wedding” a.k.a. “Gently Down The Stream” and the “The Big Wedding” has begun in Greenwich, Connecticut. The comedy, which will see Katherine Heigl join an all star cast that includes Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace and Ben Barnes, is scheduled to shoot throughout August producer Clay Pecorin told Greenwich Time today.

Distributor Lionsgate UK has acquired the local theatrical rights to Katherine Heigl’s latest movie "The Big Wedding" it was announced today. The company purchased the film for British market from producers Nu Image/Millennium Films at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Trade publication Screen Daily reports that Toronto based Entertainment One (eOne) has acquired the rights to Katherine’s latest project “The Big Wedding” from Nu Image for the Canadian and Benelux markets at the Cannes Film Festival.

Katherine Heigl has signed to star in the indie comedy “Gently Down the Stream” alongside Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton and Amanda Seyfried. The movie, which will be retitled as The Big Wedding in international markets will be written and directed by Justin Zackham (“The Bucket List”) and is a co-production between the filmmaker’s Two Ton Films banner and Millennium Films.
