In conjunction with Los Angeles based Jean De Merry, a firm which specializes in high-end French deco furniture, Katherine Heigl has designed a limited-edition vanity table to benefit The Compassion Revolution. The furniture item is part of a guest designer charity event which also includes limited-edition, made-to-order pieces by Victoria’s Secret model Karolina Kurkova, fashion designer Gregory Parkinson and jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth.

Animal advocate Kim Sill and the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation are offering a reward totaling $5000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the individual responsible for an act of cruelty that resulted in a number of small dogs being dumped on Imperial Highway on April 27. Katherine Heigl said in a statement, “We are participating in the reward money being offered to find whoever did this despicable thing. People have to be held accountable for this kind of lack of humanity and compassion.”

In September, Katherine was guest on “The Late Show with David Letterman” where she chatted about her battle to quit smoking. She revealed that she had switched to using an electronic SmokeStik® and credited the device with helping her stop using conventional cigarettes.
