Katherine Heigl Attends Saved In America Screening
Katherine Heigl attended the red carpet screening of animal welfare campaigner Kim Sill's documentary Saved In America in Agoura Hills, California yesterday.
All proceeds from the film, which will screen at noon daily in the Agoura Hills Regency Theater until August 20th, benefit small animal welfare organizations working for animal rights. Saturday's special showing was in support of Katherine's own animal welfare non-profit the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.
Famous animal loving celebrities including Pink and Kim Kardashian join Katherine in appearing in the eye opening documentary, which exposes the dark side of the pet industry and the animal welfare system.
The premiere also featured the Foundation's Executive Director Jennifer Brent, who conducted a Q & A session after the screening. Outside the theater a number of four-legged friends looking for forever homes greeted attendees at booths set up by the Heigl Foundation and the Shelter Hope Pet Shop.
Accompanying Katherine to the event was her niece Madison, who fell in love with one of the homeless pups being showcased, an adorable 15 week old black Chihuahua rescue, whom she promptly adopted with help from her famous aunt.
Red Carpet Roxy caught up with Katherine on the red carpet to discuss animal rescue, pet adoption, the work of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation and her new movie!
