Working with director Garry Marshall on New Year's Eve was a dream come true, Katherine explained during an interview to promote the December 9 release of the ensemble comedy.

"He is sort of the epitome of romantic comedies and it is my favorite genre - surprise!" she quipped. "I've just really have always wanted to either meet him or get to work with him and so it was such a dream for me to get to be a part of this."

She also revealed chatting to co-star Jon Bon Jovi about how he has managed to make his marriage work despite the demands of touring, traveling and time away from home. Katherine said the legendary rocker had useful advice on how to make it work for a family - a situation she could identify with - her husband musician Josh Kelley is currently on the road touring and performing songs from his latest album.

Katherine also described how she likes to spend New Year's Eve, her experience working alongside co-stars Sofia Vergara and Russell Peters, and stepping into the shoes of Stephanie Plum for the forthcoming release One For The Money. She also spoke about her most recent production, The Wedding in which she stars alongside Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams.

Entertainment show Extra decided to set Katherine and several of her co-stars in New Year's Eve a challenge at the promotional junket for the movie last weekend. Their task - to name all of the famous names that appear in the film. Not an easy feat!
