Katherine Heigl - From A Girl Next Door To An Alien

Katherine Heigl’s career in modeling and in the movie business started accidentally. When Katherine was 9 years old, her aunt took some pictures of her, and with permission from Katherine’s mother, sent the pictures to a couple of local talent spotters. A few weeks later, Katherine signed a modeling contract with a national modeling agency. She did lots of magazines and TV commercials, and got her first movie role at the age of eleven.

Different Girl From Next Door

Katherine’s first two movies, That Night (1992) and King Of The Hill (1993), did not achieve great popularity, but the third movie, My Father The Hero, was much more popular. Katherine was 14 years old at the time of the movie.

Lovely Isabel

Katherine had two choices: college on the East Coast, or a movie career in Hollywood. After careful consideration, she decided to try the movie business, and moved to sunny California with her mother. Before her role in Roswell, she had appeared in four movies.

Katherine is very satisfied with her role as Isabel on Roswell.

Katherine: I love my role as the character of Isabel! Isabel is strong and positive and very fashion-conscious, too. Isabel takes all she’s doing seriously, because she knows her life is in danger at all times. Isabel can’t tolerate any weakness or vulnerability in herself. That is the reason she doesn’t trust anybody easily. I think that there is depth to the character of Isabel, and I learn different things about her in every episode. I think the most fun part of playing Isabel is seeing how the character grows all the time.

Break-through Is Just A Matter Of Time

In addition to acting on Roswell, Katherine has done a couple of new movies, 100 Girls and Valentine.

Katherine: I am very satisfied and happy working on Roswell, because acting on Roswell is a lot of fun. I am still not going to give up my career in movies. I haven’t yet managed to achieve a big career in the movie business, but I think it is just a matter of time before that will happen!
