Question: Except your Roswell is about ten times bigger than the real one...

Katherine: (laughs) Yeah. I think so, too.

Question: What do you like to do for fun?

Katherine: I’m a really cheap date. I like to sit on the couch and watch movies I love. I love to eat dinner in and I love to eat a great dinner out. I love a great conversation. I keep things pretty low-key. I don’t do a lot. I don’t do a lot of the Hollywood parties because it’s usually a lot more effort than it’s worth. A lot of dressing up for about fifteen minutes of fun. I like to stay in. I like to read, I like to write. I knit. Most of my days are spent exhausting myself with the hours.

Question: Have you ever had a date from hell like in the opening of Valentine?

Katherine: Not that bad, but I’ve had close. I think the worst kinds of dates are the guys who think that they’re so great that you should feel really lucky that you’re with them. And then you just really want to go home and I just long for a couch and my dog and a bowl of popcorn with a good movie. I’m fine alone. I don’t need to be with some guy I want to punch.

Question: Your character in Valentine was really confrontational with that guy – would you ever do that in real life?

Katherine: I’m not as confrontational as that. I’m not as kick-ass as Shelly was. She really was like, "Enough of your crap, you’re a jerk!" I’m generally a lot more, "Um...uh-huh...well...thank you...uh...yeah...I’ve got a headache...yeah...thanks anyway," you know, I generally try to be...but I think she had the right attitude. I think I have the wrong attitude. Somebody shouldn’t be allowed to get away with that crap.
