When Katherine Heigl experienced her
first real kiss, her mother was watching. It was on the set of My Father The Hero and her
mom was perched just off-camera. "I was 14, and he was 22 and beautiful,"
Katherine says. "He asked, 'Have you ever French-kissed before? Because the director
wants to make it look real.' And I was horrified." (P.S.: The kiss looked very
sweet.) In real life, Katherine, 20, isn't doing much smooching-she's got no time!
She's busy playing Isabel, the fashion-savvy, tough-talking orphaned alien on the new WB
series Roswell.
"I believe in UFOs," Katherine says, dead serious. "I just think a lot
of people believe."
"I just love talking about black holes and astrology and galaxies," adds the
spunky Sagittarius.
But the coolest thing about her new role?
"It's great to follow in the footsteps of Scully and Buffy. They make women feel
it's possible for us to save the universe."
