Shonda Rhimes Talks Grey's Anatomy Season 6

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes spoke with TV Guide Magazine at "The Princess and the Frog" premiere at Walt Disney Studios about Season 6 of the ABC medical series, hinting at drama to come in late 2009 and early 2010.

One character missing from the forthcoming episodes will be Dr. Izzie Stevens, as Katherine is taking some well deserved maternity leave to spend time with her new daughter Naleigh.

"She’s going to be taking a leave," Rhimes confirmed. "We adapt and change. That’s what that means," she said of what Katie’s break will mean for the show’s storyline.

"I don’t know how long, but I think it’s wonderful that a mother wants to spend time with her baby. So I have no problems with that," she added.
