| Katherine
was the recipient of a richly deserved Emmy nomination for her
wonderful performances on Grey's Anatomy this season. She
received a nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a
Drama Series category when the Primetime Emmy Award Nominations
were announced earlier today. Grey's Anatomy co-stars Sandra Oh
and Chandra Wilson were also nominated in the same field. The
ABC medical show received 10 nominations in total, including one
for Outstanding Drama Series.

co-star T.R. Knight (who was also nominated in the best
supporting actor category) had a slumber party in anticipation
of this morning’s announcement, and when the moment came – they
were rendered speechless.
"It's unbelievably
thrilling. It's so nice after so many years to have a reason to
go to the Emmy's and not to just be going for the sake of going.
I'm pretty thrilled and grateful", Heigl told
ABC.
