Katherine will be honored as the female star of the year at the ShoWest Motion Picture Industry Convention 2010 in Las Vegas.

ShoWest is the most prestigious and longest running event exclusively for the cinema exhibition and distribution community and it begins on March 15th at the Bally's and Paris hotels. Katherine's award will be bestowed during the Final Night Banquet and Award
Ceremony set to close the annual exhibition on March 18th.

"Her ever-present charm and innate talent have made Heigl's transition from TV screen to silver screen seemingly effortless," ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said. "Her comedic timing and flair for acting are showcased in each of her roles and have captivated audiences around the globe."

Rachel McAdams was ShoWest 2009's female star of the year.
