Katherine's head turning appearance at the 80th
Academy Awards on Sunday hit the headlines today in the
New York
Post, with the newspaper proclaiming "A Star Is Born" and "Heigl
Steals Oscars".
The article argued that the event was memorable for two
things - Gary
Busey's inappropriate mauling of Jennifer Garner on the red
carpet and secondly "when Katherine Heigl arrived - literally
and metaphorically."

The newspaper continued, "In an Oscar year when the star
wattage was decidedly low, Heigl's bold red dress, her
old-school glamour, her sweet nerves saved the day. If there was
any doubt as to who the breakout star of Grey's Anatomy is, it
was put to rest at the Kodak Theatre. Judging by her
performances on-screen and on the red carpet, Heigl's about to
pull a Clooney and become a bona fide movie star."
"Katherine Heigl is one of the few actresses that has made
the leap from television to movies and made it appear seamless,"
says Marc Karimzadeh, an editor at Women's Wear Daily. "There's
no question that when she's on the red carpet, she's absolutely
stunning and she proves she's worthy of an Oscar moment."
"Her hair was very Marilyn Monroe, and though other actresses
have tried to pull that off, Katherine did it better than they
did - and even better than even Marilyn could," says Philip
Bloch, celebrity fashion stylist.
