Katherine's latest film project "27 Dresses", where she portrays a character who is always the bridesmaid but never the bride, is set to start shooting on May 10th, 2007 reports Production Weekly.

In the movie Katherine plays the lead - Jane - a "compulsive bridesmaid" who longs to be the bride in her own dream wedding, but finds her hopes for happiness fading when her younger sister Tess snags George, Jane's boss and the man she adores from afar.

However, when Kevin, a funny and droll guy who happens to write the Vows column for the New York Times, enters Jane's life, he winds up falling hard for her, and vice versa. But when Jane finds out that Kevin has actually been exploiting her as the subject of a highly embarrassing cover story, she decides that enough is enough, and she acts out in truly spectacular fashion -- at Tess's wedding rehearsal, no less.

James Marsden and Malin Akerman co-star in the movie, which is directed by Anne Fletcher.
