Pup My Ride Rescue Program

On Monday 26th January 2009, Katherine and mom Nancy joined Best Friends Animal Society staff to help with their Pup My Ride rescue program. They helped transfer 33 small rescue dogs on the first stage of their journey from LA to new homes in Salt Lake City. The program is part of the Puppies Aren’t Products nationwide campaign, which in 2008, saved 650 at-risk, small-breed dogs from Los Angeles shelters. The dogs were transported to communities where the demand for small dogs is high but the supply is low.

Mutts To Melrose : Orange Bone Grand Opening Event

Katherine attended the "Mutts To Melrose" event on February 11th, 2009, a grand opening for Orange Bone to help raise awareness of the thousands of homeless pups needing a forever home. Orange Bone is the first pet store in the US where the dogs come from care centers and rescue shelters. Last Chance for Animals who organised the event also joined forces with Katherine to produce a PSA to help change the way the public look to obtain their companion pets and to promote Orange Bone.

Summer Movie Special - The Ugly Truth

E!'s Summer Movie Special feature examined the movie blockbusters heading to the big screen in the summer of 2009 including Katie's romantic comedy The Ugly Truth. Katherine plays Abby Richter, a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. A battle of the sexes heats up when her bosses team her with chauvinistic TV personality Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler), who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick.

The Vault - Under Siege 2

In a feature on E!'s Daily 10 for the announcement of the movie "Life As We Know It" the show took a look back in "The Vault" at an interview  a 16 year old Katie gave in 1995 for the action flick Under Siege 2. Sporting short, dark brown hair she spoke excitedly about her involvement in some of the stunt and actions scenes in the movie and how she learned some Aikido moves for her role. The clip is in Windows Media format and must be unzipped to be played.
