Guild Of America Strike |

On Monday 5th, November the
Writers Guild of America went on strike as a result of a dispute
with the studios and production companies over residual payments
and profit sharing for new media broadcasting. Katherine and her
Grey's co-stars joined the picket lines outside of ABC's
Prospect Studios in Los Feliz on Wednesday 7th May to show their
solidarity and support for the writers industrial action. The

WGA Strike
- "Diversity Day" |

The Writers Guild of America,
Black Writers Committee hosted a “Diversity Day” on the picket
line outside Paramount Pictures Studios on Wednesday, December
12th in support of striking writers. Katherine joined the line
to lend her support and explained to the media why she
was fully behind the WGA. Katie directed blame for the strike
solely at the Studios and stated that she would not cross picket
lines unless contractually obliged to do so, even if this meant
missing the 2008 Golden Globe Awards. |

Annual Academy Awards - Show |

Katherine attended the 80th
Annual Academy Awards at the Kodak Theater at Hollywood &
Highland Center on Sunday, February 24th where she presented the
award for Best Makeup to La Vie En Rose. She looked stunning in
a red Escada gown complemented with Ryan Ryan jewelry, Jimmy
Choo shoes and clutch. Katie admitted during the presentation
that she was very nervous but spoke with great clarity during
her announcement, delivering the names of the nominees and the
award presentation flawlessly. |

Annual Academy Awards - Red Carpet |

The 80th
Annual Academy Awards took place at the Kodak Theater at Hollywood &
Highland Center on Sunday, February 24th 2008. Katie walked the
red carpet posing for the photographers and chatting with the
various news organisations at the event. She spoke about her
wedding, honeymoon and how nervous she was to be attending her
first Academy Awards where she was also presenting. The clips
