On Wednesday, February 11th, 2009, Katherine, Josh and Nancy attended the "Mutts To Melrose" event, a Private Grand Opening for Orange Bone to help raise awareness of the thousands of homeless animals needing a forever home. Orange Bone is the first pet store in the US where bringing home a puppy can mean saving a life, as owner Clark DuVal fills his doggie windows with puppies from Los Angeles Animal Care Centers.

Last Chance for Animals joined forces with Katherine and other celebrities to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to help change the way the public look to obtain their companion pets and to promote stores like Orange Bone.
