Back in the hotel suite, the bride throws her bouquet to Isabel before she and her new husband leave for their honeymoon, while Dave the best man remains behind with Isabel. Maria and Alex enter the room just as the phone rings; it’s Michael, calling from prison and rudely telling Maria to bail him and Max out. When Maria determines that this is Michael’s only phone call, she hangs up on him. Eventually, however, she relents, and rounds up Alex and Kyle to help her go rescue the prisoners.

Isabel and Dave are alone in the suite, slow-dancing and talking. They kiss, and Dave suggests "a change of venue" – his hotel room up the Strip. Isabel replies that this is a hotel room, to which Dave says he was thinking of something a little more private. They kiss some more, and Isabel agrees to go to Dave’s hotel room.

Max and Michael, sprung from jail and returning to the hotel suite, argue heatedly about Max's controlling nature and Michael's recklessness. Max attempts to book a flight back to Roswell, but there's nothing early enough, so he reluctantly stays. Maria decides to spend the rest of Michael's money on a lavish dinner for the whole group at a nightclub, and Michael arranges for Maria to get up onstage and sing.

While the others dance, an unhappy Isabel shows up, smashingly dressed in a black leather strapless dress. She approaches Alex, who says he thought she had other plans. Isabel says she thought so too, then adds, "I don't get it. He was exactly what I was looking for from this town - a good-looking smartass that, you know, I could just chew up and spit back out, you know? But he went to get some ice and I went to get a cab." She then laments that there she is, alone again, and that she must be the biggest freak on the planet. But Alex, being the sweet guy he is, tells her that she'll find the right man for her eventually, and when she does, she'll make him the happiest man ever. Isabel smiles and asks Alex to dance, and they join the others on the darkened dance floor.

The happy group arrives back at the hotel suite to find Sheriff Valenti already there and furious. After lecturing them about underage gambling and disappearing without telling him, he takes Kyle and Tess and leaves. Finally, Max apologizes to Michael for acting like a chaperone instead of a friend, and tells him that though he feels responsible for everyone, without them, he'd be lost. Michael answers that it was a good thing they were all sent to earth together, because as long as they're together, they'll make it.
