From Valenti’s surveillance point, he, Isabel, and Michael watch as Deputy Hanson approaches the UFO Center. Valenti thinks it might be a good idea to pretend to involve Hanson, then keep him out of the way directing traffic. Later in the Crashdown, Michael attempts to prepare the food for the hostages, but Isabel is impatient. Despite Michael’s telling her the burgers will taste funny, Isabel cooks them using her powers. Valenti attaches a camera to Liz’s lapel, Isabel hands her the food, and Liz goes to deliver the food.

But for once Michael is right – the burgers do apparently taste different, which Brody immediately recognizes and questions Liz about it. Liz claims that with the power out, they had to use a butane grill. Brody catches her: what about the fries? Accusing Liz of using her "alien powers" to cook the food, he throws Liz back into the room. As Brody rants, Sean trips him, then whispers to Liz to find the knife in his pocket and cut the tape off his wrists. Free at last, Sean begins to creep up behind Brody, but Max, for some inexplicable reason, shouts "Sean, no!!" thus giving away Sean’s plan. Duh. In the scuffle, Sean is stabbed.

Max decides to tell Brody the truth. He tells him that he and Tess are aliens, then proceeds to answer Brody’s questions about the home planet and their intentions to go back. Just as Brody is calming down, however, he spots the camera on Liz’s lapel, and begins screeching yet again. "I’m going to KILL you!" he yells, pointing the gun at Liz. But he doesn’t. Kill her, that is.

As Isabel watches Michael typing on Valenti’s laptop in a vain attempt to pick up the transmission from Liz’s camera, inside the UFO Center, Brody locks the hostages in the back room. Max finds Brody’s virtual reality helmet, deciding that Brody must have been wearing it when it shorted out. Since he’s picking up Larek’s memories as well as his own, Liz guesses that he’s suffered neurological damage from the electrical shock, and therefore, Max can heal him.

While Isabel and Michael attempt to activate the lockdown device on the UFO Center, Deputy Hanson gets ready to storm the place. Maria tries to reason with Brody, showing him his daughter’s picture and reminding him that he’s a father, but Brody can’t remember, and cries in frustration. He hears the sound of Deputy Hanson’s crew breaking into the building with their battering ram, and Maria urges him to let Max heal him. Meanwhile, though the switch to the lockdown device isn’t working, Isabel and Michael manage to find the manual wheel that controls the steel door which will block Hanson from getting in.

After turning off the Trithium Amplification Generator, Max heals Brody’s head. Brody cannot remember anything, so Max explains to him that he was abducted again. Since Amy DeLuca refuses to lie about what happened, Tess mindwarps her and the others, so that they remember nothing, too. The police break in, closely followed by Isabel and Michael, and Max makes a lame excuse for the condition of the place, saying they’re "remodeling," but Hanson buys it, fool that he is.

The next day, all is back to semi-normal, as Maria gives Brody back the picture of his daughter, and Max crawls through Tess’s window to tell her he remembers that he loved her back on the home planet.
