The pilot for "Our House" will be written by Brendan O’Brien and directed by sitcom veteran James Burrows. The story centers on a devoted mom, Bridget (Heigl) and dad, Shawn (Barrett), who are committed to raising their children with the love and support Bridget never received as a child. However, they soon discover how difficult that will be with Bridget's insane parents and siblings involved in their lives.

Bridget tries her best to be a laid-back, progressive parent like her therapist husband, but often finds herself reverting to the old school style of her parents. Now that the couple have moved from California to New York’s Rockland County and into Bridget's childhood home, surrounded by her family, finding a balance between these wildly different parenting styles will prove to be very challenging.

If the show is picked up by CBS it is due to land on the fall schedule, and would mark Katherine’s first sitcom role. She is currently starring as lawyer Samantha Wheeler in USA drama Suits, and will return to film the last season of the show next month.

The "Our House" pilot is slated to film at CBS Studio Center on Thursday, April 4 (rehearsal) and Wednesday, April 10.
