Katherine Heigl attended the world premiere of her latest movie, Jenny's Wedding, on Friday July 10th at Outfest in Los Angeles.

Dressed in a Smythe Jackets tuxedo, Love and Lemons Casablanca bodysuit and Tamara Mellon shoes, Katherine's red carpet outfit was accessorized by an Edie Parker clutch and Graziela Gems earrings and ring.

She was accompanied by her husband Josh Kelley to the event and was joined at the DGA Theater Complex by co-star Linda Emond and writer/director Mary Agnes Donoghue.

Conducting interviews with the press ahead of the screening, the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling legalizing same-sex marriage was very much at the front and center of discussion.

"I get very emotional and I cried," Katherine recalled speaking to Variety on the red carpet. "I was very grateful - grateful that our country has seen the light and is encouraging others to do the same."

The movie centers on Katherine's character, the titular Jenny, who summons the courage to propose to her longtime girlfriend Kitty (Alexis Bledel) and has to deal with the devastating push-back from Jenny's conservative parents, Eddie and Rose played by Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond.

Katherine added that the premiere at Outfest felt like the right time and the right place. "I cried when I read the script and then I cried again. Every time I watch the movie, I cry."

Following the screening, Katherine took to the stage with Linda Emond and Mary Agnes Donoghue for a Q & Session about the movie, sharing her thoughts on the characters, story and the production. She laughed heartily when if she wanted to direct, adding "I'll leave that to the geniuses like Mary Agnes."
