Independent drama Jenny's Wedding is receiving its first industry screenings at the American Film Market. Katherine Heigl plays the title character, who causes a massive sea-change in the lives of her closely knit, highly conventional family when she finally decides to marry.

A pretty and engaging woman, everyone is baffled by Jenny's lack of a love-life, and her parents (played by Tom Wilkinson and Lina Emond) have been particularly anxious for her to settle down, but when the announcement comes that she is finally going to wed, her choice of partner tears the family apart. In order to reconnect, everyone including Jenny, must reinvent themselves.

Mary Agnes Donoghue directed the movie from her own script and also produced it alongside Gail Levin and MM Productions' Michelle Manning. The Solution is handling foreign territories, while CAA and Gersh are handling U.S. rights.

"We filmed a year ago in Cleveland over 18 days - though it didn’t feel like 18 days because the cast really responded and felt passionately about it," Donoghue noted in an interview with Variety. "There is a Jenny in my life and family but this really isn’t her story, and the people who inspired the story have told me that they felt that we had captured them in the film."
