Transplants: The Gift of Life – Speaking Up To Save Lives
Katherine is speaking up to support Mediaplanet's Transplants: The Gift of Life campaign, which aims to raise awareness about gifting organs in order to help save the lives of others.
In an exclusive interview for the campaign, which educates readers on the importance of becoming a donor and serves as a resource for those awaiting a transplant, she reveals her family’s personal story of giving the gift of life.
The campaign has been distributed in print through USA Today on June 13th and is published online at transplantsnews.com. The full campaign focuses on living trials and the consideration of new personalized treatment options through stories of survival and discovery.
During her interview, which can be read in full by clicking here, Katherine explained that there is a continuing need for organ donation, "On average, 18 people die each day waiting for a life-saving organ. A new name is added to the national organ transplant waiting list every 10 minutes."
Please help by registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor today and provide hope to those who are waiting for a transplant.
