Katherine Heigl was a guest on CBS Daytime show The Talk today where she sat down with the hosts to talk family and animal advocacy.

The conversation began with Katherine discussing her life with husband Josh Kelley and their two daughters Naleigh and Adalaide, before turning to the work of her charity the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. She told the audience that over 3 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year in the United States and explained the initiatives being undertaken by her animal welfare organization to help address this horrific statistic.

A couple of very special guests also accompanied Katherine to the studio - two adorable puppies called Sochi and Adler! Rescued by staff from the US Winter Olympics team from the streets of their Russian home town and flown back to the United States, they were nursed back to health from the brink of death by the Heigl Foundation. Now fully recovered, the dogs have been adopted to loving homes.
