Filmmakers Launch Jenny’s Wedding Indiegogo Campaign
Jenny's Wedding Is A Love Story For Everyone
Los Angeles, CA - February 12th 2014 – Today, filmmakers Mary Agnes Donoghue, Michelle Manning and Gail Levin launched an Indiegogo campaign to crowd-fund the post-production needs of Jenny's Wedding, their independent film starring Katherine Heigl, Tom Wilkinson, Linda Emond and Grace Gummer.
Jenny's Wedding is the story of Jenny (Heigl), the daughter of a close-knit, highly conventional family, and the changes that come about when she finally decides to marry. A pretty and engaging woman, Jenny's old-fashioned parents (Wilkinson, Emond) are anxious for her to settle down, but when Jenny announces that she is going to marry a woman, her traditional family is torn apart. In order to reconnect, everyone - including Jenny - must reinvent themselves.
"This film is about a young woman's journey to live the life that is right for her and live it proudly," says the film's star, Katherine Heigl. "It is a project that I'm so passionate about and grateful to be a part of."
"Jenny's Wedding has been a true labor of love for all involved in the production" says Manning. "The money we're hoping to raise through Indiegogo will ensure that we are able to make the most beautiful film possible."
The producers are seeking to raise a total of $150,000 by March 28th through the IndieGogo platform. The funds will go to music, titles, color and sound, and the campaign's exclusive perks include behind-the-scenes footage, signed screenplays, advanced screenings with cast and filmmakers, retweets from Katherine Heigl and the actual wedding dress Heigl wears in the movie.
The campaign will go live today at Indiegogo.
Through an arrangement with From The Heart Productions, all donations to the campaign are tax-deductible, with a portion of the proceeds going to PFLAG Cleveland (Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays).
The film stars Emmy-winning and Golden Globe nominee Katherine Heigl (KNOCKED UP, 27 DRESSES), two-time Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson (IN THE BEDROOM, MICHAEL CLAYTON), two-time Tony Award nominee Linda Emond (JULIE & JULIA) and Grace Gummer (FRANCES HA, LARRY CROWNE, THE NEWSROOM). Mary Agnes Donoghue (BEACHES) directs the original screenplay she wrote, and also produces the film alongside Gail Levin & MM Productions' Michelle Manning.
Jenny's Wedding was financed by Merced Media Partners and PalmStar Media Capital and executive produced by PalmStar's Kevin Frakes, Merced's Raj Brinder Singh and Stuart Brown, as well as Lauren Selig. The Solution Entertainment Group's (The Solution) Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel are also executive producing the film and will handle international sales.
