Nancy and Katherine Heigl join Lance Heft to talk about the importance of compassion, taking action and making a difference in the world, in an in-depth interview for "Inspiration", a PBS production that features business leaders, artists and entertainers sharing their personal stories.

During the program, the Heigl's discuss how they were inspired to create the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, an organization dedicated to animal welfare that would celebrate the compassion, kindness and memory of a beloved son and brother.

The mother and daughter team describe their mission to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by humans, through a variety of Foundation programs that include, funding spay/neuter surgeries, assisting rescue organizations, and transporting animals from high kill shelters to loving homes.

Katherine and Nancy are also advocates of child adoption, both having adopted daughters of their own. The two women speak passionately about their own adoption experiences, their families, the process, and the special joy that it brings.

The program marks the Season 2 finale of the PBS show which provide guests with the opportunity to reveal what truly inspires their success, prosperity, and contentment in life. Lance Heft and the Inspiration crew traveled to Utah to record the episode on location at Katherine's ranch.
