The Rachael Ray Show
She explained that shooting a scene which sees her character Stephanie Plum handcuffed naked to the shower was a nerve-wracking experience, "You stop eating 32 hours before and you do your sit-ups right before the scene - not that it's going to make any difference at that point - it's way too late!". Katherine added, "I am fairly modest, I've never been comfortable changing in front of people and that sort of thing."
When Rachael revealed that she secretly would have loved to have been a law enforcement officer and enjoyed shooting, Katherine told her she was suprised that learning to fire a gun for her bounty hunter role turned out to be "oddly satisfying", despite her initial reservations.
"She is really charming, really sweet - got a great little personality," Heigl said of her three year old daughter Naleigh as she opened up about motherhood, before sharing the music video she had directed for husband's Josh Kelley's song, Naleigh Moon, written about their child.

After the break chat turned to pet matters, as Rachael asked Katherine about her animal welfare organization, the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. The duo discussed the Foundation's I Hate Balls spay/neuter fundraising program aimed at reducing the number of pets being abandoned in shelters and subsequently euthanized. "I love these t-shirts" Rachael exclaimed holding up one of the merchandise items available from the I Hate Balls online store.
"Your help is going to mean so much to these programs," Katherine told Rachael, whose charity teamed-up with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition to donate $150,000 and Nutrish brand dog food to the Heigl Foundation, "We're so grateful."
In the 'Big 3' segment of the show, where Rachael asks her guests 'cocktail party questions', Katherine was quizzed as to which era in time she would most like to travel back to, the strangest thing she had ever done to get a job and her biggest regret.
