The View – Naleigh Steals The Show
As Katherine began the interview, chatting about the changes in her life since her last appearance, the camera panned to Naleigh who was sitting with her nanny in the audience. The adorable toddler began waving to her mom, clearly desperate to join her on stage. She was not to be disappointed and was soon allowed to run up to Katherine - sitting with her on the couch and playing up to the audience as the show continued. "You know forget the interview, she has completely stolen the show!", host Barbara Walters exclaimed. "Yes she is completely upstaging me!" Katherine agreed.
The discussion turned to family with Katherine stating that adopting Naleigh was something she has always wanted to do, explaining that it was important for her own family to resemble the one she grew up in. "My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her about three years before I was born and that is how I grew up," she said.
Telling the hosts that she found balancing work and motherhood a difficult task, Katherine said that she decided to be a working mother because "I feel like I am the best mother I can be because I have this passion, because I have this job I love so much. I am a better mother for having something in my life and not just my children,".
She was also joined on stage by author Janet Evanovich who wrote the best-selling novel from which One For The Money was adapted, and with host Sherri Shepherd also having a part in the movie, there was plenty to discuss!
"I have to tell you, I saw the movie - it's great!" Evanovich said as she spoke about the heroine of her stories, Stephanie Plum, who Katherine portrays on screen.
Walters then revealed she was one of the 75 million readers of the book series and asked wJanet what she thought of seeing her main character come to life on film. The author explained that she was a Katherine Heigl fan, "When I saw her in 27 Dresses, I thought there were something about her energy, and her comic timing - she is a very physical actress and I was very excited." Evanovich added, "She has sort of elevated Stephanie a little bit. Stephanie is going to be more glamorous from now on!"
Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck wrapped up the interview by asking Katherine about her animal welfare fundraising campaign I Hate Balls, aimed at reducing the number of companion animals being killed in shelters. The purpose of the campaign is to "encourage people to spay and neuter their pets, not their husbands!" Heigl quipped.
