Katherine Heigl As Stephanie Plum In One For The Money

The official web site and Facebook page for One For The Money were both launched today by Lionsgate.

Look out for regular updates on each site as promotion for the movie ramps up over the coming weeks and months.

The Julie Anne Robinson directed picture hits theaters on January 27, 2012, and is based on the first in a series of 17 best selling novels by author Janet Evanovich, that focus on the adventures of lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

Katherine will portray Stephanie, who is forced to turn to her last resort when she finds herself out of work: convincing her sleazy cousin to give her a job at his bail bonding company as a recovery agent.

Her first big case involves local cop and former romantic interest Joe Morelli, played by Jason O’Mara, who is wanted for murder. Nabbing Morelli would be satisfying payback for the guy who dumped her in high school – and a hefty payday – but as she learns the ins and outs of becoming a recovery agent from Ranger (Daniel Sunjata), a hunky colleague who’s the best in the business, she also realizes the case against Morelli isn’t airtight.

Add to the mix her meddling family, a potentially homicidal boxer, witnesses who keep dying and the problem of all those flying sparks when she finds Morelli himself… well, suddenly Stephanie’s new job isn’t nearly as easy as she thought.

Ahead of the cinematic release, a movie tie-in edition of the book is also scheduled to be released by publishers on November 22, 2011.
