Variety has announced that Jason O'Mara (Life On Mars) will star opposite Katherine in the adaptation of the Janet Evanovich novel "One for the Money".

Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me) has also been cast in the film which is based on the first story in the bestselling Stephanie Plum series about a lingerie buyer turned female bounty hunter.

The story focuses on Plum (Katherine Heigl) who finds herself newly divorced, living in Trenton, N.J., and having to take a job with her slimy cousin in the bail bond business to make ends meet. Her first big case involves local cop and former boyfriend Joe Morelli, played by O'Mara, who's wanted for murder.

Sunjata's has signed to portray the disciplined veteran bounty hunter, Ranger.

Julie Anne Robinson's will direct the movie, and Liz Brixius is rewriting the adapted script. The film will be produced by Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi at Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel and Wendy Finerman at Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Katherine is also an executive producer on the movie for which Lionsgate recently purchased the domestic distribution rights. Production is expected to begin in around 2 months time.
